Position Summary

The Clinic Educator Retail Health role helps the clinic and online teams identify enhancements to registration, safety, clinical quality, throughput/flow, and the customer experience. They will own and develop new evidence-based curriculum that can be taught in a hybrid, cohort-style training environment. While healthcare training requires careful regulation and attention to detail, this role will be encouraged to innovate and think outside the industry norms when engaging with team members and customers. The Clinic Educator Retail Health is essential to fostering a culture of excellence, as well as continuous improvement. Participates in the delivery of training for the standard on-boarding pathway and provide supplemental training or resources for Retail Health on-boarding needs. Able to adapt and flex to dynamic clinical environments and to the needs of learners and clinical management. Plan, do, check and adjust education items in collaboration with specialty team members and clinical management to ensure learning occurs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses learning needs to develop/deliver/implement and manage system-wide education classes, programs, services and ad hoc trainings.
  • Collects data, evidence-based practice, evaluates learning needs and collaborates with designated Educators and leaders to maintain standardized required knowledge, skills, and abilities for clinic staff in the specialty areas served.
  • Assists in facilitating orientation and continuing education activities for staff in collaboration with clinical leaders and management.
  • Delivers front office, revenue cycle, clinic flow, back office, imaging, leadership training, and Epic documentation training for clinical staff as applicable. Innovates ways to enhance learning outcomes and training efficiencies.
  • Creates programs and resources to educate clinic staff on clinical policies or practices and designs clinical improvement programs. Develops and oversees annual skills day program.
  • Ensures employee competency through ongoing support and annual refreshers or similar activities, in collaboration with Operations Leadership and Clinical Leadership teams.
  • Contributes to Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) by mentoring staff in CPI and participating in the application of evidenced based nursing practices and continuous monitoring through quality improvement methods.
  • Serves as a Clinic Mentor and Clinic Educator to support and advance clinic education within the Clinical Environment.
  • Ensures education activities and resources are within the provisions of the objectives of Retail Health MultiCare policies, ethics, and standards; and federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; master’s degree highly desirable
  • Five (5) years of training, teaching, precepting or leadership experience in retail, tech industry, or healthcare required
  • One of the following current WA State licenses required: MA-C, LPN, RN, BSN or RT, or expertise in revenue cycle, leadership development, and/or LEAN principles
  • Must successfully complete MHS Epic credentialing program within 60 days of hire and maintain ongoing requirements
  • Current Washington State Driver’s License: and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
  • Two (2) years of leadership and/or program management experience preferred
  • Project management, curriculum and/or workflow development and implementation experience preferred
  • Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $75,941.00 - $109,262.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
